There really are a lot of ways to get through and survive PA school. Here's some notes on the didactic portion of physician assistant school.

Personally, I didn't study before starting - but i have heard of plenty of people that did. Especially those that were beginning at a school known to be academically vigorous. Or if it had been a long-time since anatomy, physiology, cellular bio, pathophysiology etc.

The most important thing is to be willing to change up your study habits and figure out what works best for you.

Some people study in groups. Some people make quizlet or Anki decks. Some people read the textbooks. Others subscribe to osmosis or some other resource. Check with upper class people.

The most important thing is that get a good note taking system down. I personally used OneNote for Windows 10. I made each section a class, and each folder in that class was either a unit or a week - depending on the class and its testing structure.

You can catch a peek below:

I used a surfacepro and brydge keyboard, along with a stylus for the surfacepro. I type much faster than I write with a stylus so that worked for me. Alot of classmates used iPads too.

Good luck!
